On Tuesday, September 28, 2010, Cox and the Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Virginia held an official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the
9th Street Club’s new
Technology
Center. The Center includes computers, software, design applications, and other items donated by Cox to assist with education of youngsters in the Club.
Cox Vice President Kim Stanley said, "A recent statistic indicated that 57% of the adults who came up through a Boys and Girls Club indicated that the program saved their life. That statistic and the many other life-changing benefits of the Boys and Girl are the reasons for Cox’s continued support and sponsorship of this great organization. It truly makes a difference in children’s lives, and we believe in it.”
